Introduction
Early in his career, Quinton de Kock was compared to greats of the game like Adam Gilchrist and Mark Boucher because of his aggressive striking and deft glove work. Before being surpassed by Kumar Sangakkara at age 22, he and another player shared the record for the most consecutive ODI century with three. He had set up himself for South Africa in all 3 types of formats a year later.
De Kock played baseball as a child and even thought about relocating to the United States, but his father persuaded him to focus on cricket. He was kept on for the next year and participated in three games for his group. His most significant year of success was 2016 when he made 445 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate and average of 37.08 and 136.08, respectively. Quinton left his previous team in 2018 and was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 2.8 crores. He failed to live up to his talent, scoring just 201 runs in 8 games, and the team terminated him the following year. He was purchased by Mumbai Indians for 2.8 crores, and they used him as an opener.
Quinton saw great success with the squad in 2019 and 2020, hitting more than 500 runs in each of the seasons and winning the championship in back-to-back years. Test Career
On February 20, 2014, Quinton de Kock played in his first Test match versus Australia. Quinton only made a total of 41 runs in his debut game. Then, in July, Quinton faced the Sri Lankans on Asian soil.

In the third game of the 3rd one-day international versus Sri Lanka, he struck a hundred. In the five games he played in the subcontinent versus India in October 2015, he amassed a staggering 318 runs, including two hundred. Quinton participated in a tri-series in June 2016 against the West Indies and Australia. He was chosen for the South African team to compete in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he only appeared on eight occasions. Quinton only participated in three ODI series in 2018.
In 2 one-day international series versus Pakistan and Sri Lanka, he averaged 38.67 and 70.60 respectively. The next year, the batsman was made team captain, although he had trouble with the bat. The next year saw the next game for the South African glove player. South Africa then traveled to England for a three-match ODI series. Quinton amassed 131 runs in three home games versus England in February 2020. He then made an appearance in the Proteas team for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021. In the 4 tournament matches he participated in, he only managed to hit 69 runs. In his most recent series versus India, he showed flashes of his former spectacular brilliance.
